ED WEINER HAS BEEN HONORED FOR HIS CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMMUNITY. On Tuesday, December 1, 2009, the Fairfax Bar Association recognized Ed's enormous contribution to the community by bestowing on him the James Keith Public Service Award, which is given annually to a member of the bar who has exhibited exemplary commitment to helping others by giving time and talent. Over the years, Ed has volunteered countless hours on behalf of the underserved in Fairfax and elsewhere. His efforts have provided assistance to hearing-impaired individuals, and his fundraising efforts have raised over $100,000 for the Fairfax Law Foundation and over $25,000 in music scholarships for the George Mason University. In addition, he has raised substantial funds over the years for the RRP Foundation that provides support for those affected by a life-threatening respiratory disease (Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis). As noted by Paul Fletcher, the publisher and editor of the Virginia Lawyers Weekly, Ed really is one of the good guys.

Law Day

Law Day has been celebrated in the U.S. since President Eisenhower declared May 1 to be a day for the country to celebrate its adherence to the rule of law. For many years, WRS has sponsored a "weiner roast" gathering to raise money for the Fairfax Law Foundation for use in its community services programs.

Virginia Adopt a Highway Sponsor
For several years, WRS has participated in Virginia's Adopt-A-Highway program to help keep our roadways free of litter. Our "highway" is on Route 123 just south of Braddock Road in Fairfax.
Making Strides for Breast Cancer

Here we are at the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk in October 2008. Ed and Maura Weiner's daughters walked in honor of one of their teachers, Terri Hobson, who is winning her battle against breast cancer.
