If I could have any teacher I wanted to spend a year with my child, I'd choose George Weiner. There are some teachers who are gifted teachers, and every child who has had the good luck to be in George's classroom at White Oaks Elementary School has been the beneficiary of his gifts.
George's former students come back to visit with him and say that he was the most influential teacher they ever had. That's the best compliment any teacher could hope for.
We are so proud of George and his many accomplishments. George has been teaching for 22 years and has been recognized for his excellence in education (by winning the Milken National Educator Award in 2002) and was named Fairfax County Teacher of the Year in 2001. George was featured in a great
article in the Burke Connecton recently.
Prior to teaching George's career at White Oaks, he practiced law with his brothers Ken and Ed for eight years. The law firm was known as Weiner, Weiner and Weiner. Their mother, Thelma Weiner, was their receptionist.
People still call here and ask whether we are Weiner, Weiner, and Weiner.
