Jury verdict for plaintiff $214,000 for his head injury suffered in car accident

Our client was sitting at a stop sign at an intersection in Fairfax County when defendant's car went off a side road and struck the plaintiff's vehicle.  Plaintiff suffered a concussion, broken ribs, head lacerations, and contusions.  Plaintiff underwent physical therapy for about a month and suffered from dizziness and headaches, attributed to post concussive syndrome.  Medical expenses were $14,000.

Defendant claimed he blacked out and could not recall the accident-- the sudden illness defense.  At the trial, the judge gave a  jury instruction on this issue.

Before trial, the defendant had offered $40,000.  The jury gave our client $214,000 for his head injury.

Awarded: Verdict $214,000
