Just the Beginning Foundation – encouraging young people to become lawyers and judges

Ms. Rohrstaff served on the Executive Planning Committee of the Just the Beginning Foundation 8th Biennial Conference held recently in Washington, D.C. JTBF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop and nurture interest in the law among young people of color and other groups that are under-represented in the legal profession by providing free educational and mentoring programs.  The Foundation brought judges, lawyers and students together for a three-day conference that included panel discussions, mock trials, receptions and informal gatherings.  One program, Robes in the Schools, took judges and lawyers out to schools around the area (high schools, colleges, law schools) and reached 2,000 students.
